Westminster 5, Berkshire 4 (OT)

NEPSIHA Playoffs

-- Wed. March 1, 2000 at Simsbury, Conn.

Westminster sophomore Adam Swain got the game winner with just 1:33 left in the first overtime period on a deflected shot from the stick of defenseman Josh Hoffman to cap a wild game in Simsbury, Conn. at 5-4.  After Berkshire took an early lead, senior Rob Hammel tied it at one in the first for Westminster.  In the second, Westminster got goals from Mike Kennedy and Jeff Natale while Berkshire countered with one from Ryan Brewer.  In the third, the Martlets got out to a 4-2 lead courtesy of a goal by Swain, but Berkshire battled back to send it to overtime.  Ryan Brewer and Bastian Kolaric both scored their second goals of the game to send it to overtime.  In overtime, Westminster controlled most of the action and finally put one in to end it. Brewer (2g), Kolaric (2g), and Hunter (3a) were notables for Berkshire, while Hammel (1g, 1a), Natale (1g, 1a), Kennedy (1g,2a), and, of course, Swain (2g) lead Westminster's attack.
