Team USA Under-17 Falls to Grand Rapids, 6-3

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The National Under-17 team dropped a game to the Grand Rapid Bearcats, 6-3 Wednesday night at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube.

Team USA’s John Snowden provided much of the team’s offense as he contributed two goals and an assist. Jake Riddle added a goal in the third period and Brian McConnell had two assists. On the Grand Rapids side, Lucas Drake and Brett Murphy each finished with two goals.

Grand Rapids dominated much of the second period, scoring two of its six goals while leaving Team USA scoreless. In the third, Snowden notched his second goal, but Grand Rapids added two more goals to put the game out of reach for the Under-17 squad.

USA goaltender Steven Belanger picked up his first loss of the season, finishing with 16 saves. With the loss, the Under-17 team drops to 2-2, while Grand Rapids remains undefeated with a 3-0 mark.
