The puck designation indicates the chosen establishment is one of our time-tested personal favorites, and is the equivalent of 4-stars, our highest (and only) rating.

We feel all the establishments in our guide are a cut above the rest, or they wouldn't be listed. The puck signifies the establishment as being one of our best-of-the-best favorites.

Opinions & Recommendations - The opinions contained here are mostly our own, and at times they are the opinions of those individuals from schools who answered our Restaurant & Pub questionnaire. We can make no guarantees about your future personal experiences at these establishments, because anyone (waitress, waiter, chef, you, and me) can have a bad day, but familiarity with an established favorite usually pays dividends.

The atmosphere, décor, and particularly the friendliness of an establishment are as important to us as anything else. There are numerous 4-star establishments throughout New England not listed in our guide simply because we don't care for their arrogant and condescending attitudes. Who needs that?

Directions - In almost all cases, the directions we offer assume your departure from the main entrance/exit of the subject school, not necessarily the rink.

The exceptions are (directions listed are from the rink, not the main entrance): Avon Old Farms, Cushing, Exeter, Hill, Hotchkiss, Kent, St. George's, Tabor, Taft, and Thayer.

Dinner Reservations - We suggest you make reservations for all the restaurants listed, unless noted otherwise. Generally speaking, pubs allow you entrance without any reservations, and most of them offer dinner.
