Matthew Kovacich scored the eventual game-winner 52 seconds into the
third period as Westminster outlasted Avon Old Farms, 4-3.
Carlson's goal
put the Martlets up 4-2 but Tyler Wells tried to spark a
last-minute rally
for AOF with a goal at 11:34 in the third. Tim Warner despite
the loss
played spectacular, stopping 27 out of 31 shots. Phil
Lauderdale was one
better stopping 20 out of 23. The other Westminster goals came
from Adam
Swain, Adam Carlson, and Dan McLane. Wells had two on the day
along with a
goal from Chris Higgins for Avon.
