The Plot Thickens
Amid the final week of the â23-24 prep hockey season, weâre working behind the scenes, crunching the numbers, and seeing what possibilities exist for those teams still in contention for an Elite 8 berth.
Before the games of this past weekend we werenât expecting much in the way of movement in the Elite 8. In other words, the projected Elite 8 seemed to be the most likely outcome. That all changed, however, when Nobles lost at Belmont Hill on Friday. That loss allowed St. Sebâs to sneak in the back door and snag a spot in the current Elite 8 standings. Furthermore, Noblesâ loss could be Dexterâs Elite 8 gain, and Holderness, previously thought to be unassailable, could drop out of the Elite 8 entirely.
